Child Sponsorship Interactive Map

4 November 2008 One Comment

Did you know that over 143 million children in developing countries are underweight due to malnourishment - a.k.a. not getting enough food? And, here’s another one for you: 2.2 million children under the age of 5 years old die of Diarrhoea because they drank some bad water. That’s absolutely crazy!

We, at the Child Sponsorship portion of World Concern, wanted to put some of this gut-wrenching data on a map for people to see and experience in a different way than just reading a boring statistics website. So we did.

Peek at the map below. Just click it to make it interactive. Click, double-click, drag, drop, zoom, and learn. It will show you statistics about children from a number of different countries around the world.

Note: If you like the map, feel free to tell your friends about it via the “ShareThis” link below. The more people who know about this kind of information, the better our world will become.

    Good day!

I’m a mother from the Philippines. My baby(Rheus), almost 6 months old, had been diagnosed with osteogenesis imperfecta, brittle bone disease type 3 that affects 1 out of 50,000 babies. Please do help us in looking for a kind hearted sponsor for my baby’s health & survival. You can contact me in jmendez@saturnee.com or juvymendez@yahoo.com.

    Hope to be responded soon.

    Respectfully yours,
    Juvy
